Join us for Valor Council June 19-22, 2025 for the third year in Pennsylvania. We will meet at the farm at 1800 on 19 June 25 and plan to be complete at 1200 on 22 June 25. Plan to camp out
The Valor Council, scheduled for June 19-22, 2025, is a faith-based event organized by VALOR (valorandgrit.org) in Pennsylvania, aimed at developing life skills, grit, and character in young men aged 10-22. The mission is to prepare them to serve and lead their families, communities, and country through mentorship, challenging activities, and Christian principles.
Event Details:
Purpose: To foster character, discipline, and leadership in young men through faith-based mentorship and practical skills training, addressing societal challenges like family structure breakdown.
Activities
Rappelling: Basic instruction and practice of rappelling with ropes.
Equestrian Activities: Builds confidence through horse grooming, tack setup, care, and riding.
Aquatic and land movements: Focuses on swimming and running stamina, creating an environment for healthy competition.
Survival Training (min. age 13): Teaches off-grid skills like foraging, trapping, fire starting, water filtration, land navigation, shelter prep, weather reading, and signaling.
Marksmanship: Instructs on safety, weapon handling, small game hunting, and aiming.
Camaraderie Competition: Encourages teamwork and bonding.
Closeout and Challenge: Concludes with a motivational challenge before noon departure on June 22.
Context and Impact:
VALOR emphasizes raising disciplined, Christ-centered men to lead with integrity. The 2024 Valor Council (June 13-16) media can be accessed here.
The program addresses cultural and social issues by strengthening young men through faith, mentorship, and real-world challenges, aiming for long-term impact on families and communities.

Let us know if you have interest to contribute as a volunteer for the weekend OR have ability to arrive a day early for event preparation.
We are planning to campout, bring gear if you are able, temperature lows at night may dip into 50’s. Cots, tents, bedding can be provided, please advise early with support requests.

Sleeping system/mat (Camping under stars, inclement weather plan of tents and rain fly will be available on-site)

All food and drinking water will be provided.
Campsite will be off grid w/ only occasional ability to access running water and electricity.

WHAT IS VALOR?
Valor is a faith-based non-profit organization dedicated to helping young men ages 10 to 22 develop character, life skills, and grit in order to serve and lead their families, communities, and country.

Active duty, veteran military, and first responders serve as mentors and team leaders.
Skilled and experienced men serve as instructors and advisors.
Service members lead outdoor events, athletic competitions, apprenticeship programs, and challenging physical activities.
Fathers volunteer at monthly activities.
Projects include tangible tasks like constructing a shed, wall, barn, or house.
Young men have a chance to hear others’ struggles and what they did to overcome them.
Incentives for mentors & team leaders and young men: flight over house, sky-diving, fishing trip.
ABOUT VALOR
A warrior of Valor displays great bravery in the face of danger, especially battle.
Our nation struggles with social, cultural, and geo-political issues in unprecedented ways. The family structure has been dissolving in many segments of our society, and the youngest generation bears the consequences. Valor tackles the challenge of developing young men from all backgrounds and walks of life through mentorship, encouragement, and the opportunity of learning life skills to develop character as a man who serves and leads his family, organizations, and country as a disciplined warrior, guiding them to find a new life purpose through Christ and His eternal truths.
