Build a sand volleyball court in Mexico!
Who: Valor and local young men
What: Construction of a sand volleyball court
When: Meet at The Rock Church at 0600 on 02 Nov 24. Return will be 1800 on 02 Nov 24.
Where: Avenida Lirios Reforma 83497 San Luis Río Colorado, Son. Mexico
Why: to build character, life skills, and grit while working alongside, mentoring, and, encouraging local young men in Mexico.
Valor Hike up Pilot's Knob to see the sun rise.
We plan to hike up to the top of Pilot’s Knob (only about a half hour to the summit) to see the sun rise! Bring water, wear a hat and/or sunscreen. We will meet at the base of the hike at 0530, just off I-8E exit 164 from Yuma! We plan to be back at the base at 0730 so you can enjoy the rest of your Saturday!

Sunrise Telegraph Pass Hike
Join Valor for an early sunrise hike up Telegraph Pass! Bring water (preferably in a camel back), good hiking shoes, and a headlamp. We will meet at the trailhead at 0430, hike to the summit, and return to the base by 0700. You can still make it to work and school!
Campout at Senator’s Wash
Join Valor for a campout at scenic and cool Senator’s Wash on 06-07 April. We will meet at the Stone Ridge Church parking lot on 06 April at 1400 and return to Stone Ridge Church at 0800 on 07 Apr.
Valor Gleaning
Produce gleaning from 0745-1200 on 02 Mar 2024.
This is a great opportunity to use your strength and endurance to gather some food to store at a food bank for those who don't have!
We will meet at 0745 at Stoneridge Church Parking lot to receive instructions and set up gleaning teams. Wear attire for the weather, a hat, gloves, and bring your own water.
Construction project in Mexico!
We will be doing a one day mission trip for teenagers to San Luis, MX to build a protective wall for a washer/dryer that David Power received for use for his ministry. We plan to interact with local youth and get to see ministry opportunities. Sears, Landon Van Dyk and I will be escorting the group. We leave early Saturday morning at 0700, 17 Feb from TRC and return that evening at 1800.
Lunch will be provided.
Bring bottled water, hat, work gloves, work clothes, and a pair of shorts in case the local youth want to play soccer!

We plan to gather to learn from F-35 Test Pilots Rob “Champ” Guyette’s and Scott “Sonny” Duncan’s recent survival experience, and engage in and learn survival training.

Trap Shoot with TRC at Adair Range!
Join us early in the morning at Adair Range to shoot trap (clay pigeons). Whether you are experienced or this is your first time, this is an awesome opportunity to shoot moving targets with shotguns!

Campsite will be off grid w/ only occasional ability to access running water and electricity.
This venue is intended for boys and men as a mentoring, apprenticeship style event. Ages targeted for VALOR events are young men ages 10-22, however younger boys/sons can absolutely attend. The intent is that young men are comfortable and capable to participate in solo activities and are detached from father figures to allow relationships to mold with mentors.
Instructional Activities offered :
Survival - (min age 13yrs). off grid intended to instruct on foraging, trapping, fire starting, water filtration, land navigation, shelter prep, weather reading, and signaling.
Equestrian - Opportunity to build confidence around large animals instructing on grooming, tack setup, horse care, and riding.
Aquatics - swimming and small boat craft in fresh water. Building swimming stamina in deep water with instruction on strokes, breath control, and floating techniques.
Marksmanship - Instruction on firearm safety, weapon handling, small game hunting, and aiming techniques.
Orienteering - Land navigation, reading topographic maps, compass use, and plant/tree identification.
The emphasis on all activities is functional utility, the goal is to cultivate recognition of intrinsic value through simple challenges and an environment where margin to grow is given.

Water day at Senator's Wash!
Join us for some fun water-skiing, wake-boarding, tubing, and knee-boarding at Senator’s Wash on Saturday, 20 August! Meet at Stoneridge Church Parking lot to depart at 0900 for the Wash! Bring water, sun-block, hat, towel, and swim attire. We will provide a lunch for you and return to Stoneridge at 1600.
Mobile and ham radio class
Retired Marine Major Will Mayberry and father of four grown children will teach class on different communication devices that can be used in austere and urban environments at The Rock Church.
Water Day at Senator’s Wash coming up on Saturday, 11 Jun!
Join Valor for a day of biking, canoeing and kayaking on the Senator’s Wash Reservoir! We will bring a lunch and life jackets. You bring sunblock, a hat, swim trunks, and a gallon of water. We will provide the canoes and kayaks, and some adult mountain bikes! If you want to bring your own bike, that would be great!
Campout at Senator’s Wash
We will campout at Senator’s Wash, conduct lifesaving classes in the water, and have competitive events to stay cool!
Convoy Campout
Join Valor for a convoy campout traversing the vast BMGR to the east of Yuma by vehicle. We will meet at the Foothills library on 01 Apr at 1630 and return to the Foothills library at 1700 on 02 Apr.
